Phoenix Rudder 9-70G
UX-07
Weight: 34.4g (LOW END) - 34.8g (HIGH END)
Design:Phoenix Rudder features an inverted six-sided taper blade design.
Gimmick: Designed to stand still with the Glide Bit, gradually wearing down opponents' stamina.
Stamina vs. Stamina: Phoenix Rudder struggles in stamina battles, being inconsistent and unable to compete with predecessors like Phoenix Wing. Its recoil from the mix of plastic and metal contact points hinders its performance against stamina-focused opponents like Wizard Rod.
Attack vs. Stamina: Phoenix Rudder lacks the weight and aggression to consistently KO or defeat stamina combos. The recoil it generates often works against it. Attack vs. Attack: Phoenix Rudder can occasionally deliver strong hits that drain the stamina of other attackers. However, its performance is inconsistent.
Strengths:
Powerful Attacks: Phoenix Rudder can land strong hits against opponents, though this is not consistent.
Weaknesses:
Stamina: Phoenix Rudder has poor stamina due to its design and shape.
Negative Recoil: The recoil from its attacks often backfires, weakening its performance.
Overall: Due to its poor shape, Phoenix Rudder struggles to excel in any particular category. It lacks the aggression needed for pure attack and doesn't have the stamina to outlast opponents. While it can perform decently against other attackers, its limited niche use makes it a challenging release to master. Although not a must-have, it can still be a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
Gameplan: You want to run Phoenix Rudder on an aggressive setup using any balance bit with aggression and stamina. Your goal is to hard launch and try to outlast attackers albeit somewhat difficult to pull off.
Combos:
Attack: Phoenix Rudder 7-60/9-60/5-60/1-60 P/U/T
Weight: 6.4g
Design: 3-70 is a ratchet with three sides and a tall height. The contact areas are three wide points.
Consistent stamina is the same: You would need to balance tune to see if it matters compared to other sides, like 5 sides or etc.. This is up to Blader since it is a case-by-case basis.
Strengths:
Three sides with wider hit points: The Ratchet has wider contact points than a four-sided design. Although it is wider and should be easier to hit, three sides make less contact to cause a burst since they are more rounded off.
Middle Height: In this unique height range, similar combinations to those of 60 can be run and potentially beat them by being taller to stabilize them. This has to be very generalized, but one should experiment with this height and see what benefits it can reap.
Weakness:
Tall Height: Similar to that of 80 but slightly less of an issue, the taller you are the easier of a target you are to hit the exposed ratchet, since 70 is the middle height right now, this is worse than 60 but better than 80.
Overall: Like any 70-height ratchet, you're going to want to use this on balance combinations to optimize bits like Taper, Point, Unite, and Hexa. The 9-sided design also reduces the risk of bursting in battle, making it a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
Weight: 2.5g
Design: Glide is a Beyblade X Bit with low burst resistance and a semi-sphere bottom made of POM. It features 16 gears for a focused Xtreme Dash.
Strengths:
Destabilizer Stamina: Glide's tall design and supportive bottom allow it to maintain posture and outspin opponents by making them fall under the Bit.
Xtreme Dash: Depending on the launch, Glide can avoid most attacks. However, improper launches can waste an Xtreme Dash, draining stamina.
Weaknesses:
KO Risk: Improper launches can lead to easy knockouts, as Glide doesn't grip the stadium well when hit.
Burst Risk: Due to its tall design and low burst resistance, Glide is prone to bursts if not launched at the right angle.
Gameplan:
Tilt: Launch at a slight angle and throw the Beyblade on the opposing side to avoid knockouts and conserve stamina.
Overall: Glide is a solid Bit but suffers from inconsistency. Due to Takara Tomy's quality control, the POM Ball's exposure can vary, affecting performance. With optimization, Glide can be a must-have for competitive players, but it is also a fine addition for collectors.
Overall
Phoenix Rudder offers a mediocre blade, a decent ratchet for the 70 height, and a solid stamina Bit with some inconsistency. The set is mainly valuable for the Glide Bit; otherwise, it's not essential for bladers.
