Blade: Phoenix Wing METAL COAT BLACK
Weight: 38.95g (LOW END) - 39.1g (HIGH END) (UPDATED MOLD 3 (MOLD 1/2 = 37.9g (LOW END) - 38.45g (HIGH END)
Design: Three-sided blade jagged design with aggressive contact points.
Attack Potential: Phoenix Wing excels with a variety of attack strategies. It is capable of both upper attack (launching Beyblades into the air) and smash attack (sending Beyblades into pockets).
Attack VS Attack performance: As one of the heaviest blades in Beyblade X, Phoenix Wing dominates many attack matchups through sheer weight. Its heft often compensates for any shortcomings, making it a top contender in head-to-head attack battles.
Attack VS Defense/Stamina: While Phoenix Wing isn’t invincible, it is exceptionally strong. Its weight and design allow it to overpower stamina and defense types with ease, making it a formidable choice in these matchups.
Stamina VS Stamina: Due to sheer weight, Phoenix Wing can be used as top-tier stamina since it uses weight to bully other stamina types. While it technically does not have crazy stamina, the weight in its hits for impact compensates for that. However due to the fact blades like Wizard Rod exist it is not suited for stamina combos at least if one is facing a Wizard Rod.
Defense VS Attack: Phoenix Wing’s weight and robust shape make it highly effective in defense combinations. It can withstand heavy hits and remain stable, giving it an advantage in defense versus attack scenarios.
Strengths:
Weight: One of the heaviest blades in Beyblade X that can have an advantage in Battle.
Hard Smash Attack: Phoenix Wing will beat you up so hard just because the weight works well with the shape.
Weaknesses:
Top Heavy: Due to the shape and design, Phoenix will eventually topple down as it gets closer to the end of battle due to weight distribution at the top.
Gap: In order to balance a powerful release like this, Takara Tomy had to give it a gap to make it somewhat balanced, this makes it more easily supcetipble to bursting. It is preferred to use Phoenix Wing on 9-60 or 5-60 setups.
Overall: Phoenix Wing is a must-have as it is the easiest attacker to use, while still having great stamina and defense.
Gameplan: Phoenix does very well on low height attack combos, however if one wishes to the 70 height is great for attack to down smash the opponents and is useful on defense combinations.
Combos:
Attack: Phoenix Wing 9-60/5-60/7-60/7-70 Rush/Flat
Balance: Phoenix Wing 9-60/5-60/7-60/7-70/5-70/3-70 Taper/Point/Hexa
Weight: 6.2g
Design: 9-60 is a ratchet that has 9 sides and a low height, the contact areas for the ratchet are 9 filled out points.
Stamina: It is as good as 5-60 and good compared to other other ratchets.
Burst Resistance: It has the best resistance as it is incredibly hard to hit being small and rounded off.
Low Height: It is one of the lowest height ratchets, making it a great use for attack combinations or other low height setups depending on context.
Weight: 2.3g
Design: Gear Flat is a variant of the regular Flat Bit with a jagged gear shape and an indent. It features an 80 rating for Burst resistance.
Strengths:
Maximum Attack Potential: Gear Flat is currently the fastest bit in Beyblade X as of January 2023, offering the highest attack potential.
Xtreme Dash: Designed for Xtreme Line launches, Gear Flat excels in KOing or Xtreme Finishing opponents.
Burst Resistance: With an 80 rating for Burst resistance, Gear Flat provides minimal Burst risk.
Weaknesses:
Low Stamina: Due to its high speed, Gear Flat depletes stamina rapidly. Be cautious with your launch strength.
Vulnerability to Self-KO: Similar to other flat bits, Gear Flat can self-KO with a hard launch or improper angle, although it may occasionally result in an Xtreme Finish against the opponent.
Gameplan:
Flat launch or a somewhat tilted angle shoot:Use a flat launch or a slightly tilted angle to leverage the stadium’s gimmicks and aim for knockouts.
Overall: While Gear Flat offers exceptional attack potential, its high risk and susceptibility to RNG make it a risky choice. It’s a valuable addition to any blader's collection, but its performance is highly dependent on precise technique and launch control.
Overall
Phoenix Wing is a must-have due to it being the easiest attacker and its ease of other types that can be used in Beyblade X. The release comes with a string launcher, a decent attack bit and an amazing ratchet there is nothing about this release that makes it a negative for purchasing overall.
